This session will give parents an insight into the Maths Mastery approach and how it is used to develop a deep, secure understanding of mathematical concepts. We will explore how lessons are structured to promote fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving, and how all children are supported and challenged to achieve success. Parents will see examples of the strategies and representations used in class—such as the concrete–pictorial–abstract (CPA) model—and discover ways to support mathematical thinking at home. The session aims to strengthen the partnership between home and school by helping families understand the methods, language, and principles that underpin our maths teaching.
