TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 6th October 2025

Whole School Updates

When to send your child to school and when to keep them home?

We understand the importance of good attendance. However, particularly in the winter months, we recognise that children may become unwell.

As a general guide, it is fine to send your child to school with a minor cough or cold if they are otherwise well and do not have a high temperature. However, if your child has a fever, they should stay at home. Please do not give them Calpol in order to lower their temperature before school.

If your child has diarrhoea and/or vomiting they should stay at home for at least 48 hours after the last episode.

The NHS gives further guidance on this area. Please click on the following link: Is my child too ill for school?

Literary Festival

Pupils from Reception to Year 5 will be going to the Henley Literary Festival next week. Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to walk the children there. Please send children to school in smart, clean uniform, with an appropriate coat.

Early Years (Reception)

Head lice

We have a case of head lice in Reception. Unfortunately, it is not possible to treat head lice in one attempt. As per the NHS guidelines, it will take up to three weeks of wet combing to get on top of this. Please can we urge you to check your child's hair (and the rest of your family) with a fine-toothed detection comb, and treat if necessary, to prevent it spreading across both classes.

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Reading Journey wishlists

Thank you to parents who have purchased Reading Journey books via our LoveReadingKids wishlists, where 25% of the cost is donated back to Trinity, meaning we can buy even more books. The Reading Journey is proving to be incredibly popular this year, so if you are in a position to buy your child's class a book, please click on one of the below links:

Soil samples

For our new topic, we would like to ask children to bring in soil samples and stones. Please bring them to school in a food bag. Ideally we are looking for examples of loamy and sandy soils, igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. Please give any samples to your class teacher.
