TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 1st December 2025

Whole School Updates

Reverse Advent Calendar

It’s that time of year again when we launch our Reverse Advent Calendar to support Nomad Food Bank in our local community. Instead of receiving something each day from an advent calendar, we will be giving items to help create festive food parcels for families in need.

Please see the list of items that NOMAD really need at the bottom of this Bulletin. If you are able to donate, items can be brought to class teachers between Monday 1st December and Friday 12th December.

Thank you for your continued support. Miss Kirton and the School Council Team

Healthy snacks

As a school, we promote healthy eating, so please can we request that children are sent to school with healthy snacks for morning break and after-school clubs, such as fruit. Please do not send crisps, biscuits and chocolate bars as this is then really hard for the children whose parents are following the healthy eating guidelines.

FOTS Christmas Fair

  • Please note that there are no hot lunches being served on Friday 5th December, so please either send your child with a packed lunch, or if you require a school-provided packed lunch, please remember to book it by 10:00am on Monday 1st December.
  • Thank you for all the donations that were dropped at school this week and to the parents who have volunteered to man the stalls.
  • Please remind your child(ren) to bring coins in a named purse / wallet on Friday, along with a bag to take their goodies home in.

Oratory Cross Country Cancelled - Saturday 29th November

Due to the heavy rain that is forecast, the Oratory School regrettably have to cancel the cross-country event that was planned for Saturday 29th November. They hope to re-schedule for an alternative date in January.

Help for parents and carers waiting to be seen by mental health services

A new service is now available in Oxfordshire to help parents and carers of children waiting to be seen by mental health services. Supportive Steps offers short-term clinical workshops designed to address mental health needs early.

Spare socks

The school office is in need of black or grey kids socks. In the course of a week, we have a number of children coming in asking for dry socks, so if you have any spare at home, please drop them into the office.

Donations for breakout areas

If you are having a clear out ahead of Christmas (and haven't already donated items to FOTS!), we would really appreciate donations of games, such as K'Nex, Mobilo, building blocks etc, to supplement our breakout spaces around the school. Please drop off at the school office at any time.

Henley Hockey Club

Our local hockey club is looking for new members, both junior and adult, from complete beginners to more experienced. If you or your child is interested in getting active and involved, then please see the flyers at the bottom of this Bulletin.

Christmas Concert (Henley Symphony Orchestra)

On Saturday 6th December, there is a special Christmas concert for Primary School age children, at the Christ Church. Please see flyer at the bottom of this Bulletin for details.

Early Years (Reception)

100 Things

Please remember to bring your 100 Things book into school on Thursday 4th December to show Mrs Leppard and Mrs Ashworth what you have been working on at home.

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2)

Reading Journey

It is fantastic to see so many children taking part in our Reading Journey. For any children who have read 10 books, they will be presented with their certificate at our end of term celebration assembly. If your child is close to completing 10 books, there's still time!

Doodle Maths

Daily doodling makes a huge difference to children's maths ability. After a very successful first half of the term, there has been a drop in the number of children doing Doodle Maths on a regular basis, so please can we request that parents / carers encourage children to doodle a few time a week.

Costumes

Details for costumes for the Christmas performance will be sent next week.
