TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 1st June 2026

Whole School Updates

Road Safety

Following an incident this week when a car mounted the pavement as children were walking to school, we would like to remind all parents and carers of the importance of parking responsibly and considerately when dropping off and collecting children from school. Unfortunately, we continue to see vehicles parking on double yellow lines outside the school gates, which creates dangerous conditions for our pupils, families, and staff. The safety of our children must remain everyone’s priority so we would really appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us keep our pupils safe.

Sports Day Logistics – Friday 5th June

As previously communicated, this year we are trying a new format for Sports Day. The timings will be as follows:

  • 9:30am - 11:00am - EY and KS1 activities (Reception, Years 1 & 2)
  • 11:00am - 11:45am - Whole school races (Reception - Year 6)
  • 12:00 noon - 12:30 - Parents welcome to stay for picnic lunch*
  • 12:30pm - 1:00pm - Pupil playtime and set up for afternoon activities
  • 1:00pm - 2:45pm - KS2 activities (Years 3-6)
  • 2:45pm - 3:00pm - Results / Closing ceremony
  • 3:15pm - FOTS Summer Fayre

* For the picnic lunch, children are requested to bring a home packed lunch, or a packed lunch can be booked via school for EY and KS1 and those in receipt of free school meals. Please note: If you have previously booked a hot meal for Friday 4th June, this has now been removed from our system, so please re-book a packed lunch, if required. If parents / family are present for the picnic lunch then children can sit with their families, or they can sit with pupils in their ''House''.

Parent Governor

Please refer to email sent 18/05/26 and if you are interested in applying for a position as a parent governor, please return the completed nomination form by Monday 1st June.

Lost Property

Our lost property box is overflowing again, particularly with coats. We are unable to keep these items indefinitely so please take a look on the railings at pick up today or come in at the beginning of next term.

National Thank a Teacher Day - 17th June

The 'Thank a Teacher' campaign recognises all staff working in schools and colleges; school leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, and all support staff such as lunchtime supervisors, caretakers and cleaners. If you’re feeling shy you can send a card anonymously, but it's always much appreciated when people take the time to do this. CLICK HERE to send an eCard. You will need to search for ''Trinity CofE Primary School - Vicarage Road'' when prompted for the school name.

Henley Youth Festival Theme

Henley Youth Festival would like your children's help in deciding what next year's theme should be. You can choose from Myths & Legends, Futurama or World Foods. Deadline for votes is Friday 5 June. To vote go to https://www.hyf.org.uk/single-post/2027-theme-voting

Gillotts Pioneer Date

Apologies, but the website and previous Bulletins have mistakenly advertised that the Gillotts Pioneer Day would be 2nd June, but this has now been corrected to 2nd July.

Bikeability

The majority of our Year 6 pupils will be taking part in the Cycling Proficiency scheme ''Bikeability'' on our second week back. If you have pre-registered for a bike and helmet this will be provided, otherwise please remember to send your child to school with their bike and helmet.

POINTS TO NOTE:

  • Check own bikes are in a safe, working condition: tyres inflated, both brakes working, chain lubricated, saddle height correct etc
  • Check helmets fit correctly
  • Send in £15, if a loan bike has been requested
  • Dress children appropriately for the weather
  • Provide a water bottle, which can either be carried on the bike in a bottle cage or in a small rucksack

There are still places available, so if your child is yet to sign up please register asap so they don't miss out.
