TRINITY WEEKLY BULLETIN - Week commencing 19th January 2026

Whole School Updates

100 Things

Please encourage your child to complete a couple of the 100 Things activities so they can bring their book into school to show their teacher on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th February. We will be celebrating our top activists in the final celebration assembly of term on Friday 13th February.

Ofsted and our Parent Survey

From November 2025, Ofsted have changed the way they measure and evaluate schools. They no longer give one overall judgement eg 'Good'. Instead, a report card will show colour-coded grades for different areas. More information can be found in this 3 minute video by CLICKING HERE.

Our last Ofsted inspection was in December 2023 and you can read our inspection report on our OFSTED PAGE on our website. Next week we will be sending out our Parent Survey and the questions we ask you are guided by Ofsted's Parent View. Please take the time to fill in the survey, as your feedback directly impacts how we shape Trinity and your child's experiences here.

Smartphone free childhood

Thank you to those parents who attended our talk on Internet Safety and giving children a smartphone free childhood. We would like to share two links with you, as they are relevant to all parents and carers:

Papaya Talks - Resources for Parents

Smartphone free childhood - Resources for Parents

Parent Information Sessions for 2026

Please read the email from Miss Rolfe sent on 15th January and diarise any of the talks that you feel are relevant to your child. Part of our School Development plan is to enhance parental engagement and to help parents in supporting their child's educational journey. We hope you will find these talks both helpful and informative.

Pupil Premium - Are you eligible?

The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding given to schools to help children from lower income families to do their very best. This funding helps raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It also ensures all children achieve as well as they possibly can.

If you receive any of these benefits, you may be eligible:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Guarentee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190
  • Working Tax Credit 'run-on'

Please contact the school office in confidence if you have any queries. It will not affect any other benefits that you are already claiming, but it really does help both the child and the school.

Swimarathon

Good luck to any Trinity pupils taking part in the Swimarathon on Sunday 11th January in Maidenhead. For anyone wishing to support our swimmers, here is the Just Giving link: Just Giving - Maidenhead Swimarathon - 11 January 2026

Art Club (Years 1-6)

Does your child enjoy being creative? There are a few spaces at Start Art after-school club, which runs on Tuesdays, and from this Term it's open to children in Years 1–6.

It’s a fun, relaxed club focused on having a go and experimenting with different techniques and materials. Each week we explore a different artist or technique and create a piece of work inspired by it, using a wide variety of materials including collage, watercolours, clay, sculpture, printing, and more.

If you're interested or would like more information, then please contact Hannah at startarthenley@gmail.com

Phonics - for all Year 1 children and any Year 2 children who did not pass the Phonics Screening Test in 2025

Please encourage your child to do Phonics Play at least three times per week. They can choose to play the Burried Treasure, Picnic on Pluto or Dragons Den games. Weekly practice will make a huge difference to how well your child does in the summer term Phonics Screening Test, so start early to give your child the best chance at passing this.

As per Miss Rolfe's email of 15th January, we will be holding a Phonics Screening Check information session for parents on Thursday 23rd April. Please make a note of this in your diary.

Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4)

After school football club

We still have spaces for Friday after school football, run by AFC Henley.

For clubs run by external providers to be viable they need a minimum number of pupils to sign up and for Friday football our numbers are low this term. AFC Henley have said they will run this club regardless for this term, but we would like to encourage anyone who is considering it, to sign their child up, otherwise we cannot guarantee that the club will run into the Summer term.

The cost is £63.00 for 9 sessions (£7.00 per session). Years 1-3 are taught on the astro and years 4-6 play on the field. Please see the below flyer for more details and email jack.woodley@afchenley.com to book.
