Mayor of Henley Award
At Trinity we run a programme that we like to call 'The Mayor of Henley Award'. This runs in a similar way to the Duke of Edinburgh award that is available to children in secondary schools. At Trinity, we want to give our children every opportunity to flourish, give back to the community, show courage to try new things, go out of their comfort zone and take on a challenge.
All children in Years 4- 6 are invited to take part and must complete the skills, physical and faith section outside of school, before taking part in an expedition at the end of the year. Each year gets progressively more challenging with the children needing to show greater commitment to the award.
Since launching the programme in 2020, we have had over 80 pupils start the programme, over £3,000 raised for charity and many great challenges completed!
The award launches each year in the Autumn term with information shared with children and parents of those able to take part. As the award is about showing commitment and taking on new challenges, in order for a child to complete the Gold Award they must have also completed the Bronze and Silver.
