VISITORS TO YEAR 5

Year 5 welcomed Nick Strange (parent and governor) into school to give a fascinating talk to the children about how he got started in the sport and his long and illustrious career including his Olympic and

World Championships rowing experiences as a competitor and as a coach and mentor. He brought in his Olympic tracksuit, World Championship and Henley Regatta medals to show the children and answered all of their enthusiastic questions. Interestingly, he was once told

that he was too short to be a successful rower!

Year 5 also had a fabulous afternoon with Steph Maxwell from Dancing, Divas and Dudes. The children learnt dance routines including the hat dance and a Bollywood routine. The two groups then performed their dances to each other at the end of the workshop. It was a great workout and lots of fun was had by all.
