If your child was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022 inclusive and they are due to start in Reception in September 2026, then please remember to fill in an online application form with Oxfordshire County Council before 15th January 2026. Late applications are far less likely to secure a place at a preferred school, so it is important that you apply on time.

Delayed Entry Applications

Some parents of children born between 1 April 2022 and 31 August 2022 may feel it is in their child’s best interests to delay starting Reception until the following school year (September 2027). In Oxfordshire, parents can request delayed entry by submitting a formal application, which will be considered by the relevant Admission Authority. It’s important they also submit an on-time application (by 15 January 2026) in case the delay request is not approved.
