Summer Term 2026
Learning about the life in the arctic circle. Building an igloo out of sugar cubes.

In DT we made Arctic moving pictures using sliders and leavers.


We continue to experiment in our science lessons. We learnt about arctic animals and how they keep themselves warm. We then made blubber using lard and checked how it keep animals warm in cold climate conditions.

In Science, the children explored how to slow down ice from melting. They used different materials to experiment with and recorded their findings.

PCSO Haynes delivered a talk to KS1 about the role of the Police and modern policing today. She talked about all of the different modes of transport, police dogs, drones and the children had time to ask lots of questions.

Spring Term 2026
The children shared their '100 Things to do before you leave Trinity' books with each other to see what they have been getting up to at home.

In PE, targeting games continue with archery skills.

Thanks to Henley Youth Festival for the wonderful Circus Workshop.


Our chosen story for World Book Day in KS1 was The enormous crocodile by R. Dahl. The children created the Wanted posters, became Trickster builders and made paper chains enormous crocodiles. We had a great Show and Tell session promoting our favourite book too.



Great start to the term with Target games in PE.

What a great Poetry Day with James Carter.
We have been learning about music symbols and understanding what they mean. We have learnt how to create our own music tunes using the symbols.

The children in Murphy class are learning to write sentences using descriptive language for our story. The children created a ship during their experience day and made telescopes to look out for what they can see at sea.

We are really enjoying working on our new story in English called Grandad’s Island. This week the children have been exploring the items in Grandad’s attic and writing lists of treasures as well as thinking of adjectives to describe them.

Murphy class have been taking part in the art competition and have been drawing birds with pastels.

Autumn Term 2025
In PE lessons we have been learning to throw and catch and have been playing games like 'clear my garden' and 'aliens mess each others garden then clear it up'

The children are learning to use a new mathematical resource. Practical lesson on addition within 10.


In PE the children have been learning about sending and receiving. They have shown a great development of their skills in this area.

Murphy class have been doing a practical lesson on writing number sentences and using part-whole models and cubes. They have been working collaboratively in pairs.

Murphy class has enjoyed learning about the compass and telling each other directions.


The children designed and created a jewellery pot for Cinderella as part of Learning Means The World lessons about Fairytales.

A real highlight of the week was our trip to the Henley Literary Festival, where we met Andy Day and discovered more about the books he has written. The children enjoyed learning how to draw Dino Dad and listening to Andy read an extract from his story. Everyone was thrilled to take home their very own signed copy of Dino Dad: Mystery of the Missing Egg.
Practical lessons are a favourite. Comparing numbers using number tracks.


In Murphy class this week we have been getting ready for Harves and learning about growing and harvesting sunflowers. We have also been learning about Van Gogh and painting sunflowers.


We are enjoying learning about puppets in our Literacy lessons. The children explored 3D shapes by sorting, matching and stacking.
